Volume and Capacity

For maths this week we did a maths test when you finished you got to make a google drawing about what you wanted to teach and I chose volume & capacity. I hope you enjoy.

Kite Poem

This week we made Kites. Lukas was my buddy. We used flax stick and cardboard. First we cut the cardboard. Next we taped the flax sticks on the cardboard and then we put on the sting. Then it was ready to fly. We tried a few times but it didn't work. Then we tried one more time and it broke. After we flew our kites we wrote poems about kites.

Science Fair

This week we have been focusing on our science fair. My group and I did it on water rockets. We learnt a lot like a water rocket needs lots of water and pressure, it was a lot of fun making our water rockets.

We watched a video called pigeon impossible. Then we had to write a story as if we were the pigeon

Pigeon Impossible

Hi I am a pigeon and my name is Jeff . Just yesterday I saw a man walking down the street with a yummy bagel in his hand. He was sitting on the park bench with it. I wanted it. I stared at him. He threw a little bit of bagel out to me but I did not want that little bit I wanted all of it. The man had a strange briefcase in his other hand.  Oh no the bagel fell into the briefcase. I jumped into the briefcase and I felt really scared.  I started to press all the buttons. One was coloured red and said F-I-R-E!.  I pressed it lots and lots of times. I think it was shooting a gun. I got really stressed out. I pressed one big button. It launched a massive rocket into the sky. The man got a flying thing out from his briefcase. I landed on the top of the flying thing.  He was just about to shoot me but then he let out the the yummy bagel. Yay! Finally I got the bagel. I ate it up. “Ahhhhhhhh!” I screamed as a rocket fell on me.

Fractions

We have been leaning fractions for math this week. All fractions are different but all of their parts are the same size. For example one half is 1 part of 2 and they are equal. The numerator is the top number and the denominator is the bottom number.
