Kia Ora everyone,
For the last week or so, the whole class has had to work out a slide about area and perimeter. It was easy... doing nothing. The whole slide was super duper hard but, it was a good challenge. It was hard doing everything the hardest part was measuring the perimeter when there were blocks hanging over the edge. The learning behind this task was to learn about area and perimeter.

The Little Magic Box - Maths
Kia Ora Everyone,
Today, we made a DLO for maths it was a subtraction DLO and we had to do it with boxes. First, we made a google draw and put some boxes. After that, we made a maths equation to go with it. I enjoyed making the boxes and the maths equation. It was difficult doing nothing it was a quick and easy task. If you can, answer the question in the comments. The learning behind this task was to learn about subtraction.

Mixed-ability Maths
Kia Ora everyone,
This term, the whole class has been doing mixed-ability maths. How I feel about it? I like mixed-ability maths because it's fun and challenging. What I enjoyed? I enjoyed teaching people maths strategies that I know and they don't, sometimes they teach me strategies I don't know. What I found difficult? My group would sometimes be silly and wouldn't want to learn. Why I found this difficult? Because sometimes I would have to do all the work by myself. What I can do to change my negative thinking? Nothing I like mixed-ability maths, that is my thinking about mixed-ability maths.

My Maths Understanding
Kia Ora everyone,
For the last two days, in maths the whole class have been making DLO maths problems using equal adjustments to solve addition problems. First, we had to make a google drawing and solve the problems the teacher gave to us using equal adjustments. I enjoyed adding and taking away numbers from the equation to make it a tidy number. I found it tricky to solve the last problem because you had to trade the numbers. The learning behind this task is to show our understanding for equal adjustment and place value partitioning.

Team Moana's Favourite Takeaways
Kia Ora today and yesterday Team Moana all made a bar graph. First, we did a form and and got all the info and put it on a table. Next, we copied it on to a tally graph in our maths books. Then, we did a bar graph. The bar graph was of favourite takeaways. In the bar graph their were KFC, Pizza Mc Donalds, Fish in Chips, and Chinese. I found it hard to copy the info from the table on to the book. It was fun making the bar graph on my computer. I learned that 20 people like Mc Donalds. There were a total of 51 people that voted. Here is my DLO.

Fractions
We have been leaning fractions for math this week. All fractions are different but all of their parts are the same size. For example one half is 1 part of 2 and they are equal. The numerator is the top number and the denominator is the bottom number.
