Is Earth like a hard-boild egg?

Kia Ora
We are learning about what the Earth is like on the outside and the inside. We used hard-boiled eggs as mini-models for the earth. We got to design our own continents and islands on the outside of the egg shell. At the end of the experiment we got to eat the egg! The egg tasted HORRIBLE!!!!!!!

Mixed-ability Maths

Kia Ora everyone,
This term, the whole class has been doing mixed-ability maths. How I feel about it? I like mixed-ability maths because it's fun and challenging. What I enjoyed? I enjoyed teaching people maths strategies that I know and they don't, sometimes they teach me strategies I don't know. What I found difficult? My group would sometimes be silly and wouldn't want to learn. Why I found this difficult? Because sometimes I would have to do all the work by myself. What I can do to change my negative thinking? Nothing I like mixed-ability maths, that is my thinking about mixed-ability maths.

My Maths Understanding

Kia Ora everyone,
For the last two days, in maths the whole class have been making DLO maths problems using equal adjustments to solve addition problems. First, we had to make a google drawing and solve the problems the teacher gave to us using equal adjustments. I enjoyed adding and taking away numbers from the equation to make it a tidy number. I found it tricky to solve the last problem because you had to trade the numbers. The learning behind this task is to show our understanding for equal adjustment and place value partitioning.

Digging Deeper

Kia Ora everyone,
Today and yesterday, the whole class made a google draw for digging deeper. First, we had to make a very simple sentence and add more info to make the sentences more complex. I found it easy to write the sentences and I didn't find anything tricky. I enjoyed finding out about worms. The learning behind was to learn the different of a complex sentences and a simple sentences.

Beaver MRS GREN

Kia Ora everybody,
Today and yesterday, we did an activity to see how an animal can be classed as a living thing using MRS GREN. MRS GREN is an acronym used to show that a life form is living. I chose to do mine about a beaver. I had to show how a beaver moves, respires, senses, grows, reproduces, excretes, and eats. I enjoyed finding the information for growth. Growth was fun because the information was interesting and I learnt lots of new and awesome facts about a beaver like if a beaver stops chewing their teeth will grow through their head. I found it tricky finding the info for excrete. The info for excrete was hard to find and a bit weird like brown slimy stuff comes out of their castor gland. The learning behind this task was to identify if this life form was living or not.
