Simple and Compound Sentences

We have been using Pear Deck to help us learn more about sentence structure so that we can get better at noticing where one sentence ends and another one begins. This should also help us get better scores for punctuation. This a screenshot of an activity we did: first we had to highlight the noun and verb parts of the sentences and then we had to decide where the full stops and capital letters should go. 

In the holidays

Woohooo we are finally in Opunake. The family and I jumped out of the car and ran into the house. We were staying at one of my mum's friends houses. She had four kids and a
husband, the oldest child was called Jacob then Dina, Lauren finally Ashley and Matt the husband. We drove to the skate park and the netball courts and played a game it was called levels. After that we payed a game of hand ball It was pretty intense finally we went to the library and went home.

Progress journal

This week we have done a progress journal. This is to show our learning for the year. Tonight our parents are coming to the student led conferences and we can share our learning with them.

Sam's Waitangi Experience

On Thursday and Friday half of the class went the the Waitangi to check out the new museum. We learnt about the Ohaeawai battle and much much more.

Environmental Writing

This week we have been writing a poem about Autumn. We went outside and sketched something and wrote a few key words. We used these to write our poem.
